About Us:

Plymouth Wesleyan Church (PWC), a congregation of 600, is a vibrant and growing community of faith that is committed to loving Jesus and serving the community for Jesus. We are seeking a part-time Kids Ministry Director who will lead a thriving, safe, and biblically-centered environment for children from birth through 6th grade.

Position Overview:

The Kids Ministry Director will have a vital role in building a culture of discipleship by equipping volunteers, engaging parents, and creating high-energy ministry environments that makes the Bible come alive for kids! Through age-appropriate teaching, special events, and intentional investment, this individual will inspire and guide the youngest members of our congregation into closer relationship with Jesus. The ideal candidate will bring energy, innovation, strong leadership skills, and a genuine love for Jesus and for working with children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop teams: Recruit, train, and support volunteers and teachers, fostering a culture of excellence and spiritual growth within all areas of PWC's kids ministry.

  • Ministry development: Organize and oversee Sunday and Wednesday gatherings, as well as high-impact outreach events.

  • Discipleship and curriculum: Develop and implement age-appropriate biblical teaching and curriculum that help a diverse group of children connect with Jesus.

  • Safety and environment: Maintain a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for all children and volunteers.

  • Collaborative leadership: Collaborate with staff and other ministry leaders to integrate kids ministry into the broader mission and vision of Plymouth Wesleyan Church.

  • Family engagement: Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed and involved in their children's spiritual journey with Jesus.

  • Wise stewardship: Manage the kids ministry budget and resources wisely and strategically in alignment with PWC's vision.

Qualifications:

  • A deep love for Jesus Christ and a commitment to leading children into His presence.

  • Experience in children's ministry, coordinating volunteers, and developing teams.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of child development and a creative, innovative approach to ministry planning and discipleship.

  • Ability to relate well to children and families with wisdom, humility, and flexibility.

  • Comfort with public speaking and leading group activities.

  • Ability to pass a background check.
